What is stored on your device
The game uses browser local storage to remember completed cases, scores, hints, attempts and an unfinished case so that you can return to it. This information remains on your device until you clear it or your browser removes it. We do not receive your answers or progress.

These keys support the save and resume feature you request by playing. The sketchpad and written working notes are temporary and disappear when you leave that puzzle.
Why this information is used
Local progress storage provides the save and resume feature when you play. The operator's legitimate interests in delivering a working site and preventing abuse are the basis for any technical request data it controls. You can play without creating an account or sending us your answers.
Cookies
The game code does not set cookies. It does not load third-party advertising, social or analytics tags. Cloudflare, which delivers and protects this site, may set strictly necessary security cookies if its protection features are enabled. See Cloudflare's cookie information for their purposes.
Analytics
The game does not run a visitor analytics script. Cloudflare may provide aggregate traffic metrics and operational logs as part of hosting and security. The game does not send Cloudflare your puzzle answers or progress. We do not use visitor profiles, advertising measurements or cross-site trackers. If a visitor analytics service is added later, this notice and any necessary choice controls will be updated before it starts.
Technical request data
When you visit, Cloudflare receives technical request data such as your IP address, requested page, browser details and time of access to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The operator may access operational logs and traffic metrics for troubleshooting and security. Cloudflare is the hosting and security provider and recipient of this data. We do not sell it or use it to profile players.
Operational request data is retained according to the Cloudflare services and settings in use, for the time needed for delivery, security and troubleshooting. Your choices and rights
You can remove all Gambit progress saved by this site from this browser with the button below. You may also clear this site's storage in your browser. You can ask the operator about access, correction, deletion or restriction of any personal data it holds, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Your right to object: You can object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us. We will consider your request under UK data protection law.
